Whiting TH-57 lands hard

MILTON, Fla. -- A Navy TH-57 helicopter assigned to Training Air Wing 5 at Naval Air Station Whiting Field was involved in a “training mishap” hard landing about 3:10 p.m. today. The incident occurred at Navy Outlying Landing Field Santa Rosa near Milton, according to a base media release. The landing was on the grass near the edge of the runway. The two pilots were able to exit the helicopter on their own. They were taken to a local hospital for precautionary evaluations. The incident is under investigation.
