Deal inked for airport concessions

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Mayor Ashton Hayward signed a 10-year contact Friday with Missouri-based OHM Concessions Group to provide food and beverage services at Pensacola International Airport. The action follows the mayor's veto Tuesday of the council’s recent decision to extend the current airport concession contract with Robert de Varona. Varona Enterprises has had the food and beverage concession at the airport for more than two decades. Hayward said the council did not have the legal authority to extend de Varona's contract. The deal with OHM provides more money to the airport than the competing bid.
