EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The 96th Range Group welcomed a new director during a ceremony at the Air Armament Museum Sept. 7. Christopher Morin assumed directorship of the 96th RG before the presiding officer, Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Geraghty, 96th Test Wing commander. Morin dedicated more than 35 years of his career to test and design. He most recently served as the Sentinel Enterprise Combined Test Division chief at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, prior to his new directorship. The 96th RG operates and maintains the Eglin Test and Training Complex by providing airborne and range instrumentation, infrastructure, facilities, and technical expertise to support fielding of war-winning capabilities. The group’s specialized test capabilities enable them to successfully support this mission. Eglin’s land range covers 724 square miles and contains 70 specific test and training areas, including an approved depleted uranium test range and the only qualified air-to-ground supersonic range east of the Mississippi River. In his new role, Morin leads five squadrons with more than 350 government and 900 support contractor personnel in support of Eglin’s test and development enterprise.
