EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — An F-22 from the 325th Fighter Wing "experienced a mishap on landing" at Eglin Air Force Base shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a release from the public affairs office. Emergency crews responded to the scene and the pilot was transported for evaluation. Later the pilot was reported to be in good condition and was released from the 96th Medical Group. An investigation of the circumstances surrounding the mishap was underway, according to the Eglin announcement. The 325th Fighter Wing is based at Tyndall Air Force Base in nearby Panama City, but the wing's flying operations moved to Eglin after of 2018's Hurricane Michael, a Category 5 storm, made a direct hit on Tyndall AFB.
