United outsourcing 630 plus jobs
United Airlines said Monday it plans to outsource some 630 ticket and gate agents and baggage handler jobs at 12 airports, including Pensacola International Airport, Fla. It's the latest cost-saving move. United would shift these jobs from its payroll and hire other companies to provide the employees under the outsourcing plan. United Continental was formed in 2010 with the merger of United and Continental. It's been trimming costs, but one of the biggest was the announced closure of the Cleveland hub.
