Summer brings more flights to airport

GULFPORT, Miss. -- Additional flights and larger planes will fly into the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport this summer. Clay Williams, airport executive director, said spring and summer are typically the busiest travel time in this market. Many of the changes involve larger aircraft. Last week the Federal Aviation Administration said it will provide $4.5 million to rehabilitate the zones at the end of the runway that take the force of a plane touchdown.
