JetBlue Airways’ first Airbus A220-300 has entered service. The new jet officially started scheduled operations with a revenue flight from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Tampa International Airport (TPA). JetBlue’s outfits the A220 with 140 seats in a three-class configuration. The aircraft is set to operate between the U.S. Northeast and Florida for the next several weeks. The first Airbus A220 jet for JetBlue, built in Mobile, Ala., was handed over in December 2020. Ultimately, the aircraft type will replace the existing regional jet fleet of 60 Embraer E190. Once complete, it will make JetBlue an all-Airbus operator. The rest of its fleet consists of the A320 family.
