Two people were killed when a military T-38 trainer crashed Friday near the Montgomery Regional Airport in Alabama. The trainer jet, assigned to the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., crashed at about 5:30 p.m. while on a routine training mission. Montgomery Airport executive director Marshall Taggart said the two-seat plane took off from Columbus and was on its way to Tallahassee, Fla., before crashing in a wooded area adjacent to the Dannelly Field. The military handles the investigation of one of its own aircraft. (Sources: multiple, including CNN, FOX, 02/19/21)
