Leonardo Helicopters is expected to deliver the first TH-73A helicopter to Naval Air Station Whiting Field by the end of April, with plans to deliver 31 more by the end of the year. The TH-73A helicopters are replacing the TH-57 helicopters that have been used for years as the Navy trainer. Leonardo won a $648 million contract last year to replace the Navy's training helicopter fleet with 130 TH-73A aircraft during the next four years. The company plans to build a support center at Whiting Aviation Park in Milton, adjacent to NAS Whiting Field, to provide technical and maintenance support to Whiting. It will have up to 50 workers when it's completed in 2024. (Source: Pensacola News Journal, 02/25/21) Previous
