Blue Angels show now four days
PENSACOLA, Fla. - The usual two-day Blue Angels air show at Pensacola Beach will be expanded to four days because of social distancing guidelines caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The shows will be July 8 to July 11, according to Santa Rosa Island Authority spokeswoman Katie King. Usually tens of thousands of locals and tourists swarm Pensacola Beach for a Friday dress rehearsal performance followed by a Saturday official show, but this year's stretched out format will be done in the name of social distancing because of the coronavirus pandemic. The plan is to have similar flight maneuvers each day from both the Blue Angels and civilian aircraft to give the public additional chances to see the performances. Other changes include expanding the show's footprint on the beach to allow for viewers to spread out, and there will be no center focal point for the show. (Source: Pensacola News Journal, 06/12/20)
