Fort Rucker gets new leader
FORT RUCKER, Ala. -- Maj. Gen. William Gayler on Wednesday took over as commanding general of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Rucker, Ala. He reported to Fort Rucker from duty as deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Europe, and commander of U.S. Army NATO. He assumed command from Maj. Gen. Michael Lundy. It’s the third time for Gayler at Fort Rucker. He was previously aide-de-camp to the commanding general of the Army Aviation Center, and deputy director of the Directorate of Evaluations and Standardization.
