MOBILE, Ala. -- The first Airbus A321 aircraft built for American Airlines at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility made its first flight today. The A321 took off from the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley at 1:32 p.m. CDT, performed its test sequences, and returned safely at about 5:10 p.m. CDT. Following the flight, the aircraft will go through a few more weeks in final production before being delivered to American Airlines. The first U.S. made A321, built for JetBlue, had its first flight March 21. It will be delivered to JetBlue April 25. (Source: Airbus, 04/19/16)
