PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - Two people died when a small plane crashed two miles from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, federal officials said. The single-engine Cessna 182 crashed Tuesday night in a wooded area, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Bay County Sheriff’s officials said the plane was approaching the airport around 7 p.m. when it disappeared from radar. "The plane was flying originally from Michigan and had stopped at McMinnville, Tenn., before taking off for the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport," BCSO said in a release. Deputies identify the victims as husband and wife Donald and Diane Slattery.
