Boeing to up 737 production rate

RENTON, Wash. -- Boeing said today that it will increase production of 737 jetliners to 52 airplanes per month in 2018 in response to strong market demand worldwide. Once implemented, the 737 program is expected to build more than 620 airplanes per year. Boeing currently produces 42 airplanes per month at its Renton facility, and the company previously announced plans to increase the production rate to 47 airplanes per month in 2017.
