Secretary of
Defense Leon E. Panetta announced that the President has nominated Air Force
Col. Walter J. Sams for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and for
assignment as mobilization assistant to the commander, 1st Air Force, Tyndall
Air Force Base, Fla. Sams' appointment was among 21 announced Friday. (Source:
DoD, 12/07/12) Tyndall Air Force Base is near Panama City, Fla. It's the home of F-22 training as well as the 1st Air Force.
