Navy pilot presumed dead

NEW ORLEANS, La.-- A Navy pilot whose training airplane crashed Saturday into Lake Pontchartrain is presumed dead, and the search is now a recovery mission. The pilot has been identified as Navy Lt. Clinton Wermers, a native of South Dakota. He was the instructor aboard a T-34C that also carried a student aviator, who was rescued Saturday.
